So today is an extremely beautiful day outside and I'm currently listening to "Walking On Sunshine" whilst writing this blog... kind of appropriate really!
So you know how from my last blog, I asked if anyone knew or had any connections with inspirational women in the public eye? Well it was to help a friend of mine Gemma, out who is in year 11 and loves quilting. She is doing Design and Technology / Textiles as one of her subjects which she has to do a year 12 major work.
As she has Cerebral Palsy, and as a result she wants to make a quilt of inspirational women with pics, quotes and autographs to donate to the adolescent ward at our local hospital to inspire young girls in their time of rehabilitation etc.
SO, I was able to organise for her to meet Bessie Bardot and Geoff Barker and their daughter BlueBelle, who are doing "The Life Change Experiment" - see here for more info about them The Life Change Experiment
Bessie, Geoff and BlueBelle came to visit Gemma and have a chat about her project. Bessie was able to sign some fabric and take photos etc. It was a great outcome for all. See the pics above :)
I'm still looking for connections / contacts if you know of anyone who could help with Gemma's project, email me at maddles_456@hotmail.com
So, I'm needing to go and eat lunch now.. I'll go and do that and maybe post another update later... sorry this was so short, I have lots more to say but for now this will have to do.
